How We Began
In August of 1992 while visiting a friend in New Jersey; Kendra noticed a cute guy driving down the street. Being only 18 and "a “Get What She Wanted” girl; Kendra tagged him down. After a few days of getting to know each other, sitting at the Statue of Liberty in New Jersey and driving around listening to Mary J. Blidge’s "411" album; the two began dating even though Kendra lived in Georgia and Donald in New Jersey. The long distance relationship only lasted 6 months and broke up unfortunately. Even though the two went their separate ways and got married to others ; Donald called Kendra every 6 months to check in on her.
While doing one of his “check-ins” in 2002; Donald suggested that he come visit Kendra. Since they were both no longer married; she agreed and within two months the two were a couple again.
After a 4 year long distance relationship; Donald popped the question and Kendra accepted. The actual wedding was delayed twice since Kendra was going through a healing. Donald; being an awesome man of God and wonderful provider (even as a boyfriend) took very good care of her through her sickness. Not wanting to delay their special day any longer; the two decided to become one and was married November 9, 2008 in College Park, Georgia and November 15, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Yes two weddings!
Their relationship is exactly a mirror of the saying...If you love someone set them free. If they come back; it was meant to be. Their relationship clearly was meant to be.
Only being together for seven years (married for one year); they do not claim to have all the answers. With God's guidance; they are learning daily. They have however decided to make a commitment to become one, be there for each other, assist each other to meet their goals and never give up on each other.
